FUE hair transplant
An individual approach to collecting donor follicles.

Follicular unit excision, usually called FUE, collects small groups of hair follicles individually from a donor area. Those grafts can then be placed in areas selected for restoration.
Planning starts with the donor area
The amount of available donor hair helps determine what is realistic. An assessment should consider both the current pattern of thinning and the possibility of future loss. A higher graft count is not automatically a better plan.
Understand the procedure
FUE is surgery. It creates small wounds and can leave small scars, even though it does not create the single linear scar associated with strip harvesting. Ask who will perform the surgical stages and how donor harvesting will be planned.
Your questions matter
Discuss the proposed areas, expected coverage, risks and follow-up before agreeing to treatment. The technique should fit your assessment and goals; individual results vary.
