Understanding your hair transplant recovery
Understand the broad stages and keep your own aftercare instructions close.

Recovery and hair growth take time. The early appearance after surgery is not the finished result, and the pace of change varies between people.
The early period
The transplanted area needs careful handling while it heals. Follow the instructions provided by the treating clinician for washing, medicines and returning to daily activities. Do not replace those instructions with a generic online timetable.
Growth over time
Transplanted hairs can shed before new growth becomes apparent. Visible changes develop over months, and the overall appearance may continue to mature for a year or longer.
Keep follow-up in the plan
Know how to contact the treating clinician with concerns. Seek medical help promptly for signs such as increasing pain, spreading redness, fever or unexpected discharge. Keep your review appointments and use consistent photographs if your clinician asks you to document progress.
