Why donor planning deserves attention
A useful plan considers the hair you have today and the options you may need later.

The donor area is a central part of a hair transplant assessment. Transplantation redistributes available follicles; it does not create an unlimited new supply of hair.
Think beyond a single number
Ask how the proposed graft estimate relates to the areas you want to address. It is useful to understand how the plan balances coverage with the appearance of the donor area.
Consider future change
Hair loss can continue in untreated areas. Discuss how the current proposal fits a longer-term approach, including whether non-surgical management should also be considered.
Make your priorities clear
Bring up the areas that matter most to you and ask the clinician to explain the trade-offs. A careful conversation about achievable coverage is more useful than comparing graft numbers in isolation.
